You'll need to download install DataWedge for your Symbol MC55 or MC70 scanner to make it integrate with MCNi.  Download it here.  Once you download and install that, make sure that you configure datawedge to push a <CR> after the scan.  Also, disable auto-correct and auto-completion words in your Settings->Personal->Input->Auto Completion.
